Taking it to the People

Big Guy is focused on being a Dad today. To America.

With that in mind, he isn't that interested in being a Founding Father to the Iranian protesters, particularly since given the briefings we've received of late, we know how coming down on one side or the other of this fence could really bite us in the ass. I mean, as Toes said just a while ago, who wants a bunch of pissed off Muslims at our door?

So instead, we're going to nurture our young people here at home with a big Big Guy hug. And the biggest hug will be for our friends in the media. Big Guy and I are going on a date night tonight and attending a big radio and TV dinner. We'll laugh a little, maybe cry a little, recalling all those great days Big Guy and the media had a catch on the campaign trail or killed a negative story because it just wouldn't have been fair to us. Then Big Guy will tuck them all in with our unique brand of scrolled wisdom. All in all, a great day. For America.

  1. TOTUS, do me a favor. In Big Guy's next speech about healthcare, add this line: "And the members of Congress will be asked to give up their gold-plated, Rolls Royce plan and be covered under the same one everyday Americans will have."

  2. TOTUS,

At this point I think the best strategy for BHO (heavy on the H in this case)would be to come down on both sides of the fence. At least then he would be making a stand.
In terms of the "TV Dinner" I am guessing the "who's your daddy" text won't be appropriate. I am glad to know The Big Guy won't be spending another $250K plus firing up Air Force One to go on another trip.
Just what D.C. needs...another dead beat dad.

  3. Look at this! AFP says Big Guy and Joey Plugs are reading from the same page on Iran now. Anything you want us to know about that, TOTUS?

  4. Keep all the "Fox" out of the chicken house tonight.

  5. After a hard day of dodging questions from Rush, Glenn, Sean and the like, it must feel good to go 'home' again, among friends like Olberman, Matthews, Williams, Curic, and Gibson. You know, to talk about how things are 'changing', how the Big Guy likes to go 'commando' rather than wearing briefs, how he and the First Wookie met, you know, the real hardball questions that he's used to handling.

No awkward moments asking about the problems in Iran, nothing about gas prices going back up all while he refuses to let us drill here and lower the cost of gas in a day, no ridicule of Obamacare, but rather his peeps hanging on his every word, quietly orgasmic at their tables...

You deserve the rest, Dear Leader. It has been a hard couple of days...

  6. Whaddya bet Big Zero arranges to receive an "Urgent Interruption" of his evening at some point, so he can look like Such a BI-IG GU-UY as he "handles" (with strong words, or a firm glare) the North Korean Colleague-in-Dictatorness.

Or possibly the Joy-I-Tus Interruptus with His Media Pals will concern Iran.

Either of those nations might send off a few nice big missiles soon, to impress all the other world leaders. Anything to keep their face in the news.

Sorta like BO on every other cover of "Newsweek" .....

  8. The guys on Capital Hill get their health care from that military hospital there in DC (can't think of the name right now) they will always get their care from the military (the best in the whole wrold). Any time one of their kids is sick or is gunna have a baby they take them there, no questions asked. They don't care what health care we have to wallow in.

  9. Re: Ed said, “Look at this...” The New York Times reported Thursday that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had hoped Obama would lend more vocal support to the demonstrators.

Did the thugs think the kneecap would be more obvious than the elbow?

    ReplyDelete
  10. Yep, they knew the kneecap would be a dead give-a-way. Figured a little trip might get the message across - the elbow was just a "lucky break".

BTW - I read today that it is written into the one of the bills (Kennedy's?) that Congress and Federal employees would be exempt from the new Health Care plan. The article I read even gave the page number. I would link to it but I can't remember where I read it (I read an awful lot of stuff today.)

  11. Hey TOTUS, you should have named this column "STICKIN IT to the people" because that is exactly what your boss is doing!

Has anyone thought about the fact that they are stickin it to us TWICE with the "Clunker Program? We have to pay for the bailout of GM, then we have to pay for them to buy all those clunkers to get people to buy GM cars! I got a form letter today from GM talking about the program and I'm going to send it back to them with a note to tell them NO, I won't be taking advantage of their program because I am going to give myself $4500 so I can buy a car from FORD instead!

    ReplyDelete
  12. Make that THREE times. I just read the letter, really read it, this time. The money they are offering to me is not even part of the Clunker program - its additional money. They are offering an "Owner Appreciation Certificate" for $1000 - $2750 on NEW GM cars if I buy one. SO, if I were to take in my clunker and buy a new GM, I would get the clunker money AND this other money - ALL of which is eventually coming out of taxes that I paid.

OH, and they wanted me to know that they stand behind all new GM products with a U.S. government-backed, comprehensive 100,000 mile/5-year Powertrain Limited Warranty, with Roadside Assistance and Courtesy Transportation Program, to boot.

    What a scam this is.

I left out that in the letter I'm going to tell them that the other reason I'm saying "NO" to their offer is because they closed down our local GM dealer and put people out of work.

    What magnamity.
I'll bet those journalists and mullahs are really feeling the love, even if tomorrow's tank fodder does not. I hope tonight they played that Phil Och's song "Love me,love me,love me ,something something something.
    It would have been perfect.

    Earlier when you said
"All in all, a great day.For America"
    I nearly gagged.
Did Felix lopp off the " 's enemies " ?
Iran's mullahs find civil laws and the sanctity of the vote to be more like guidelines and suggestions you know.
From their POV,our pesky international civil sanctions interfere w their rightful exportation of religous domino teams,
like HAMAS and MB.,not to mention their WMD design groups.
Of course if one is a "Supreme Leader" of a country, political leeway is granted befitting a chosen one.Special rights usually accrue to those minor political deities ,who, when praying ,are shocked to ascertain that they are talking to themselves.
    Hillarity ensues.
Like w Peter Sellers in that movie The Ruling Class,or him as Chauncey DeGardener.
Just ask Archibald Cox, Gerald Walpin,or Theo van Gho how funny it all can be.
    Or that Palin girl.
Of course such license is taken to "protect"
the public, and the children too,by those who paternalistically, know best.
In the long view anyway.Or such is the theory.

Wish we could put our petty political squabbles behind us and settle our differences
thru creative play or sports like adults.
It would be "poltically courageous" and politically correct too.
How about a Round Robin man on man tournament between Supreme Leaders ?
Ahmandinejhad can really light up a court I hear, and
    Timmy plays a mean BBall,
    You block shots.
Both Kim Jong Il,and BG are "players".
We could have a little fun with this while delaying WWIII.
It could be a new world moment followed by interfaith outreach and kumbyaing.
Word tho Bro ,getting stoned w the muslims afterwards doesn't mean what you think.
My money will go on that nice Alaskan lady.
I don;t think the muslims will ever touch her.
    May the best haaram win.

  15. Boy, NO KIDDING that Big Guy knows the media supports him. He just finished telling them THEY made HIM a "celebrity" (funny; I always thought the presidency ranked a bit higher than that often-stupid level)----and he added, "I know where my bread is buttered."

Lord, could he not at least PRETEND that they are objective reporters? Has he NO sense of propriety?

    (No, he hasn't....)

    ReplyDelete
  16. OOh....... he's getting back at Hillary for her slight criticism of BO (for not saying something supportive to the mobs in Iran).

WAIT! BO said he couldn't get to sleep the other night, worrying about something, so (BO said) he ROLLED OVER AND ASKED BRIAN WILLIAMS WHAT HE THOUGHT!!!!!!

He watched an old classic, "Leave It to Wiegurs"----???

AGAIN he says he feels like a "celebrity!" WHAT A NERD!

He says he was supposed to be going out for Thai food----in Bangkok.

Oh very funny..... HA HA! He wastes our money traveling afar, and it's now a JOKE!

    No, HE is the joke.....

    ReplyDelete
  17. Lord, his "jokes" are tanking so badly that he's starting to read VERY quickly. Really, it's BA-AD when he does that; it's so without feeling!----and you know how much liberals love FEELINGS!?

    ReplyDelete
  18. The press members each get a car company----but Fox News gets AIG! "Enjoy!"

Oh very funny. And that's why ALL the MSM looks uncomfortable and barely chuckled!

(See? Even the LIBERALS don't want to own the car companies!)

    ReplyDelete
  19. "I appreciate all the work you do, and the role you play....You bring the truth to people, and allow people to bring the truth to the world."

Um..... in the MSM? Not so much. They don't WANT to hear from conservatives.

Remember how they crapped all over Joe the Plumber?

Well, folks, BO ended this little "speech" of "jokes" with his typical, "God bless you and God bless the United States of America."

Yeah, but that's the only place he MENTIONS God. He hasn't even been to church since EASTER, and the Fam hasn't joined a congregation yet, contrary to his stated intention during the campaign to do so last January. Oh, he'll invoke God when necessary, but forget all about God mostly.....

    ReplyDelete
  20. OMG! The "comedian" for this dinner, John Hodgman (of PC commercials "fame"), is actually kidding the president for not having chosen a church (just as I did above)----only this guy thought it would be for BO's worship of Praum [spelling?], the god of Conan the Barbarian.

Anyway, the whole place (save the Fox News table) is completely in the tank and sickeningly deferential to BO. DO THEY NOT FEEL THE LEAST SHAME for being completely biased toward him!?

    Well, they should......
    GREAT MINDS!

    ReplyDelete
  21. I watched the presentation by BO. Man, it wasn't very funny. It really wasn't. I think the black woman on the stand to the left of Obama (where else??) must have been drunk or thinking she was currying favor 'cause she laughed really hard at every 'joke'.

Good thing he didn't give up his day job as a Socialist agitator. He really stunk it up as a 'comedian'. At least he acknowledged that the MSM in the room was the reason he was where he was. Without their brainwashing, he'd have never made it.

And, personally, I think I'd rather wake up next to Brian Williams too rather than the First Wookie...

  22. After reading MM's posts I think I'm going to be sick. Seriously. I'm glad I missed it. I might have broken something (the tv?).

BHO is beginning to remind me of Nero. Remember him? Here is what they say about Nero:

Nero ruled from 54 to 68, focusing much of his attention on diplomacy, trade, and increasing the cultural capital of the empire. Nero's rule is often associated with tyranny and extravagance. He is known as the emperor who "fiddled while Rome burned", and as an early persecutor of Christians.

Some sources, portray him as an emperor who was popular with the common Roman people, especially in the East. Nero was criticised as being obsessed with being popular. Over the course of his reign, Nero often made rulings that pleased the lower class. Nero's construction projects were overly extravagant and the large number of expenditures under Nero left Italy "thoroughly exhausted by contributions of money" with "the provinces ruined." Modern historians note that the period was riddled with deflation and that it is likely that Nero's spending came in the form of public works projects and charity intended to ease economic troubles.

The First Roman-Jewish War started during his reign.

Nero's consolidation of power also included a slow usurping of authority from the Senate. In 54, Nero promised to give the Senate powers equivalent to those under Republican rule. By 65, senators complained that they had no power left. In 68 a rebellion against Nero's tax policies resulted in a military coup that drove Nero from the throne.

  25. Hmm, on that thought, here is a joke:

The Best Surgeon In the country

Three surgeons were playing golf together and discussing surgeries they had performed. One of them said, "I'm the best surgeon in California. In my favorite case, a concert pianist lost several fingers in an accident. I reattached them, and 8 months later he performed a private concert for the Queen of England ..."

The second surgeon from Nebraska said, "That's nothing. A young man lost an arm and both legs in an accident. I reattached them and two years later he won a gold medal in track and field events at the Olympics."

The third surgeon, a Texan, said, "You guys are amateurs. Several years ago a woman was high on drugs and she rode a horse head-on into a train traveling 80 miles an hour. All I had left to work with was the woman's hair and the horse's ass. I was able to put them together and now she's Speaker of the House."

  28. momentary change of subject. Glenn Beck posted a letter on his website (from one of his listeners, written to "the nation's leadership) that I think everyone would enjoy reading. I enjoyed it - it said just about everything I've been thinking about for these last few years.

Here is an excerpt from it:
Democrat, Republican, independent, libertarian. Understand this. We don't care. Political parties are meaningless to us. Patriotic Americans are willing to do right by us and our Constitution and that is all that matters to us now. We are going to fire all of you who abuse power and seek more.

  30. Hilarious JIBJAB video, bettyann! Thanks! (Jamie, it seems they dubbed what BO said, so he didn't help put it together.)

Great posts, everyone! Preptile, you are Master of Sarcasm and Pun: FANTASTIC posts! Yeah, radical Muslims definitely have a different kind of "stoned" in mind for BO, the dumbie....

Well, folks, BO has finally surpassed Bill Clinton in waiting like a coward FIRST to see how the polls fare, BEFORE "taking a stand." Why didn't BO support the protesters in Iran earlier in the week, and not just finally yesterday, after they'd reported that most Americans were disappointed with his reticence?

See, ostensibly (and Babe Buchanan actually called this move "brilliant!" What's with HER!?) BO was being "careful" to keep the USA out of Iran's political scene, so later the USA couldn't be clubbed by the mullahs for fomenting riots.

Careful? It didn't work! Even though BO kept shut, the mullahs STILL slammed the USA, charging us with covertly supporting the protesters! To the radical Muslims, we can't WIN, no matter what we do or say: they're fanatics, and want to bring about world disaster, so the 12th Iman will show up and bring peace to the world through Shari'a Law (which, not so amazingly, brings NO peace wherever it currently exists). So, WHEN will BO ever grasp this fact?!

Even back when the polls hadn't even been gathered, BO could have supported those protesters for courageously risking their lives to stand up for their right to vote. BO didn't have to pick a side; he could simply have stated that he supported a fairly-conducted election. That would have been SUCH a comfort to the protesters!

The fact is: BO doesn't want to "piss off any Muslims," as TOTUS says (you da brilliant one, TOTUS; yes you is!), especially the oil-rich ones!

WHICH IS ALSO DUMB! We don't need to keep relying upon the Near East's oil supplies, because we have a 30 year FULL SUPPLY of oil reserves up in Dear Alaska! We only need to place rigs on a football-sized field, 'way up north where it's only ice and no animals to bother, and it takes LESS than a YEAR to put it together, if the bureaucracy is fast-tracked.

Who owns BO? Is it China? After all, they don't want us to succeed----and they hope to take us over and use Alaska's supply themselves.

TOTUS, you're in the nuke zone. It's turn or burn, buddy.

Flip on BO. Please start scrolling the truth A.S.A.P. We need to impeach this guy, before he takes over and ruins everything.

  32. Earlier, BO issued a statement that the Iranian government was just "using normal riot control measures" (you know, water cannons, clubs, batons, tear gas, bullets...) and he was not going to meddle in their business.

Then, apparently, this morning a crowd or protestors gathered outside of the WH, to show their support for the Iranian protestors. So Toes had the secret service snatch a few of the protestors and set up a quick focus group. The result: BO issued a NEW PAPER statement this afternoon, telling the Iranians to to "stop all violent and unjust actions against its own people." (He didn't want make a statement in person, he is still hung over after last night's festivities. Plus its easier to deny he ever said it, if its not on camera).

He managed to quote himself in his statement: "As I said in Cairo, suppressing ideas never succeeds in making them go away."
(Just to remind everyone that all of this was his idea.)

He also quoted Martin Luther King. (So that everyone could make the comparison between himself and King, don't you know).

But what exactly is a green revolution? Is it an environmentally friendly revolution - or a revolution with little to no blood-shed? Will U2 be throwing a concert? I don't know and I don't care - if it's Green, that means it's GOOD stuff! Awesome!

The im-POTUS's "stand" for those putting their lives on the line for democracy in Iran was SO impressive, mmmm, hmm.

Compare the statements of the leaders of: Germany, France, and Great Britain "condemning" the harsh actions of I'maDinnerJacket et. al.. Little "Peach" looks pathetic next to them. Embarrassment in Chief, indeed.
